Description: Controller

The role focuses on the accounting and finance functions on both a portfolio and a management company level.

Key Responsibilities:

Assisting CFO with the following:

• Preparation of internal fund accounting
• Review of external fund accounting
• Annual fund and managed account audit and tax return preparation
• Quarterly management company budget preparation
• Preparation of management company books and records
• Payment of management company and fund level expenses
• Auditor, operational and financial statement due diligence
• Preparation of management company tax returns
• Preparation of tax estimates for funds, managed accounts, management company and clients
• Monthly review of internal trade process and fund capital activity
• Preparation of quarterly board meeting materials
• Maintaining management company policies and procedures
  

Profile of Ideal Candidate:

• Minimum two years accounting or auditing experience, ideally at a top-tier public accounting firm or fund administrator
• Experience with hedge fund and management company accounting
• Tax experience is a plus
• Must have strong excel skills, QuickBooks is a plus
• Must possess excellent personal time management and organizational skills
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, particularly with team members
• Must be highly motivated and energetic team player
• Must be a CPA or be in the process of becoming a CPA
