Morgan Stanley Prime Brokerage Prepares Hiring Push In Asia

Dec 18 2009 | 1:23pm ET

Morgan Stanley has named Chris Duffy its new head of Japanese prime brokerage as the firm prepares to ramp up its Asian prime brokerage team.

Duffy has headed Morgan Stanley’s Japanese equities distribution team since 2006. His hiring is the first step as the firm plans to increase its headcount in the Asian space by about one-third, to 90, next year.

The moves will help Morgan Stanley’s Asian prime brokerage recover from the cutbacks it made last year and early this year.
