groSolar acquires Borrego Solar’s Residential Division

Vermont-based solar power installer groSolar will acquire the residential solar division of California’s Borrego Solar Systems.

The deal makes groSolar the fourth-largest residential solar power installer in the United States, with residential operations in nine states. The company, backed by NGP Energy Technology Partners and SJF Ventures, also maintains national distribution and commercial operations. 

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Borrego Solar’s residential division currently operates in California and Massachusetts.

The groSolar name will now begin appearing at Borrego Solar’s residential locations in San Diego, Berkeley, Sonoma, Orange County, Silicon Valley and Massachusetts.
