Solyndra Inc., a California-based producer of tube-shaped solar panels, has won a $535 million federal loan guarantee to be used to build a second factory in the Bay area.
The loan guarantee is the first to be offered by a Department of Energy (DoE) program created in 2005 to finance alternative energy.
