N.Y. Private Equity Firm Hires Vice Chairman

Gary Appel has been appointed vice chairman of New York-based private equity firm Castle Harlan. Appel, most recently vice chairman of Glencoe Capital, a Chicago-based private equity firm, will help Castle Harlan identify and develop new business opportunities and will work with existing companies in the firm's portfolio.
