Moore Capital Adds Goldman Sachs Emerging Markets Trader

Jan 20 2010 | 12:33pm ET

Moore Capital Management has made another high-profile hire, snagging Goldman Sachs’ head of emerging markets trading.

David Jasper joined the New York-based hedge fund, which manages US$14 billion, last week, Bloomberg News reports. He manages an emerging markets macro portfolio.

At Goldman, Jasper was head of the emerging markets trading group.

Jasper’s hire follows that last month of Garth Appelt, who worked for Jasper at Goldman before joining Moore. Moore this month also added Brevan Howard Asset Management co-founder Jean-Philippe Blochet, 14 months after its coup in hiring former GLG Partners star trader Greg Coffey.
