Northern Trust Names Multi-Asset Class Sales And Service Chief

Hedge fund administrator Northern Trust has promoted a firm veteran to head its multi-asset class investment management business.

Alan Robertson was named to the newly-created post of global head of sales and service at Northern Trust Global Investments. Robertson, who has been with Northern Trust for 11 years, has led the firm’s multi-manager business, Northern Trust Global Advisors, since 2007.

Joseph McInerney, the chief operating officer of NTGA, has been named to succeed Robertson as CEO.

“Alan Robertson is a consummate professional who can lead our staff in delivering excellence in execution on behalf of clients around the globe,” NTGI President Stephen Potter said. “He will play a key role as we continue to align our organizational structure with our strategy to provide clients with superior investment expertise, advice and service in all markets.”
