Brokerage firm Raymond James has added a hedge fund expert to its Montréal office.

The firm yesterday announced that Joseph Clement had joined its trading team in Canada’s second-largest city. Clement most recently led Clement Shio & Co., a hedge fund advisory specializing in risk arbitrage and global macro strategies that he co-founded two years ago. Clement also spent three years at Desjardins Securities covering hedge funds.

New boss Bob McDonald praised Clement’s “unique expertise and experience covering hedge funds and pension funds, and adds a new dimension to our team’s focus to deepen relationships with U.S. hedge fund companies.”
