Salus Alpha Management has launched a UCITS III-compliant commodity arbitrage hedge fund, which it calls the first UCITS arbitrage strategy to offer daily liquidity.

The Salus Alpha Commodity Arbitrage Fund has been approved by German regulators and is available on fund platforms in Germany and Austria. The fund invests in commodity swaps and futures through commodity indices, in particular the Vienna-listed Commodity Arbitrage Index created by Salus Alternative-Index group.

The new fund aims to profit from both backwardation and contango, Salus said.
