London Law Firm Follows Hedge Funds To Switzerland

Feb 17 2010 | 1:56am ET

Higher taxes and the scary prospect of strict new European regulation hasn’t yet led to a hedge fund exodus from London. But one British law firm will be ready if the exodus comes.

D. Harris & Co. International, which focuses on hedge funds, is planning a Swiss office to serve hedge funds moving to the friendly regulatory climes of the Alpine nation. Kinetic Partners is advising the firm on its upcoming Zurich office.

“Our principal office will remain in London, which continues to be one of the main locations of our clients,” firm founder Daniel Harris said. “The team in Zurich will supplement the work carried on from London and provide on the ground advice to select hedge fund managers in Switzerland.”
