Alternative investments firm Peak Ridge Capital Group is expanding into the Middle East with the addition of energy sector veteran Gary King.

King, most recently CEO of Dubai Natural Resources World, has been named senior strategic advisor at Peak Ridge, which is perhaps best known as the one-time home of former Amaranth Advisors trader Brian Hunter, who trades sank the hedge fund. In his new post, King will assist in Peak Ridge’s expansion into the Middle East and North Africa, and will work on its alternative investments platform.

Prior to joining Dubai Natural Resources World, King was CEO of the Dubai Mercantile Exchange. He also previously served as general manager of risk management at Emirates National Oil Co., and had a hand in setting up the Standard Bank/GIB GCC Energy Fund.
