Hedge Fund Manager Ruled Unable To Assist Defense

Former hedge fund manager Paul Greenwald was officially declared unable to assist in his own defense.

Greenwald shouted obscenities at Judge Daniel FitzGerald during the hearing in Manhattan state court yesterday. He is to be treated at a Corrections Dept. psychiatric ward; in December, Greenwald was sent to New York’s Bellevue Hospital Center’s jail ward after a court-appointed panel of psychiatrists deemed him unable to even enter a plea on seven counts of criminal contempt.

Greenwald is accused of harassing his wife, Michelle, a well-known cookbook author. The hedge fund millionaire allegedly violated a protection order with a series of nasty phone calls and altercations.
