Mar 10 2010 | 11:02am ET

Hedge fund founder Jonathan Zaffino has joined insurance broker Marsh.

Zaffino in 2008 co-founded Connecticut-based Century Atlantic Capital Management. He served as chief operating officer of the firm.

At Century Atlantic, Zaffino was named U.S. global risk management casualty practice leader. He’s no stranger to the insurance world, having previously headed casualty practices at Integro Insurance Brokers and Willis North America. He has more than 15 years in risk management casualty experience.

Zaffino will be based in New York.

"We are delighted to welcome Jonathan as leader of our U.S. GRM Casualty Practice," new boss Dean Klisura, U.S. risk practices leader, said. "His experience as a broker, underwriter and risk manager will help Marsh continue to deliver industry-leading brokerage solutions to our casualty clients."
