SHUAA Snags Ex-Pequot Exec.

SHUAA Asset Management, a division of United Arab Emirates-based investment banking institution SHUAA Capital psc, has appointed Sameh Hassan as a senior fund manager in charge of its Arab equity strategy. In his position, Sameh will manage funds and investment mandates and will oversee a regional long only bottom up fund to be launched by SHUAA Asset Management.

Sameh joins from Pequot Capital where he was responsible for the company's Middle East and North Africa investments. In 2003, Sameh co-founded Pemetic Capital, a U.S.-based long/short equity hedge fund.
