Washington Seeks More U.S., Asian LBO Exposure

The Washington State Investment Board’ private markets committee last month voted to recommend to its board allocations of $500 million, plus fees and expenses, to the KKR Asian Fund, and up to $205 million, plus fees and expenses, to Green Equity Investors V.

The $4 billion KKR Asian Fund is a p.e. fund that will invest in the Asia-Pacific region, particularly in Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand. Green Equity Investors V is a $4 billion domestic fund that will target control acquisitions of established, North American middle-market companies across a broad range of industries with a preference for retail, consumer products, distribution, media, business services and healthcare.
