BNP Paribas Corporate and Investment Banking has appointed Vasilis Koutsaftis as director in the foreign exchange and interest rate structuring group in New York.
In his new role, Vasilis will focus on hedge fund, real money and corporate clients in the Americas. He reports to George Nunn, head of forex and IR structuring in the U.S.
Vasilis joins the firm from JPMorgan, where he spent three years on the forex options trading desk in New York and another three years on the USD rates exotics desk.
"We are very pleased to welcome Vasilis to the Bank. BNP Paribas is already a top-10 bank globally in foreign exchange and we are looking to move into the top-five names,” said Nunn. “This requires us to continue hiring and investing in the FX arena, including exotic currencies, hybrids and prime brokerage activity. We are confident Vasilis will play an integral part in this advancement."
