Hedge Fund Adviser Hit With Sexual Harrassment Lawsuit

May 4 2010 | 3:02pm ET

A New York investment adviser has been accused of sexually harassing a 20-year-old employee.

According to Karen Lo, Thomas Guerriero, an adviser to hedge funds and high-net-worth individuals made sexual advances toward her through e-mails and text messages. In one incident, Lo, a student at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, says he sent her a video of a man—Lo believes it is Guerriero—masturbating.

Even after she told Guerriero she was interested in a purely professional relationship, the sexually explicit messages continued, she alleges in a lawsuit filed in Manhattan federal court.

Lo quit Guerriero Wealth Holdings in February, after only five months on the job as a stock broker, HedgeFund.net reports.

According to her lawyer, Lo is seeking millions in punitive damages.
