UCITS Hedge Funds Gain In April

April showers didn't rain on UCITS' hedge fund parade. Last month, the UCITS Alternative Index Global gained 0.27%, bringing its year-to-date performance to 1.62%. At the same time, the Fund of Funds Index increased by 1.02%, bringing its performance for the year to 1.57%.

The Commodities Index and Multi-Strategy Index are the best performing ones gaining 0.88% and 0.83%, respectively, for the month.

The CTA Index and Long/Short Equity Index achieve the lowest results for the period with -0.46% and -0.06%, respectively.

On a year to date basis, the Fixed Income Index is the best performing sector with 2.76% while the CTA Index shows the lowest return with -0.81%.

UCITS Alternative Index aims to track the performance of UCITS III hedge funds and funds of hedge funds.  The inception date of the UCITS Alternative Index Global and the Sub-Indices is Jan. 1, 2008. At the end of April, the UCITS Alternative Index was made of more than 430 constituent funds totaling €72.4 billion in asset under management. NARA Capital is the official Index Provider of the UCITS Alternative Index.
