Michael Broome, formerly head of sales to London hedge funds at Icap, has joined HSBC.

Broome, who joined the firm this month, covers European hedge fund sales for the bank, Financial News reports. He had been head of sales to London-based hedge funds and long-only institutions at Icap before that firm shuttered its cash equities business in March.

Before joining Icap, Broome worked at Sanford Bernstein.
