Veritas Asset Management has hired Newton Investment Management’s Ross Ciesla to boost its private client team.

The London-based hedge fund has named Ciesla a senior private client director. He starts at his new job later this year.

“Ross is joining us at an exciting time for the firm and we very much look forward to working with him.” Veritas co-founder Stewart Newton, himself a co-founder of Newton, said. “His appointment coincides with and complements our ambition to further develop the U.K. private client business in a controlled and respectful manner and we believe he will be a fantastic addition to the team.”

At Newton, Ross was a portfolio manager for private investment management. He has worked at the firm for a dozen years.

Stewart Newton recently raided his old firm for a head for Veritas’ U.K. private client team, hiring former Newton deputy CEO Mark Rayward.
