Citi Alternative Investments has reorganized its sales and marketing group, promoting three from within to fill some of its top positions.

Philip Anker, promoted to managing director, will head the institutional sales and marketing team. Based in London, Anker has for the last three years led Citi AI’s European institutional sales group, and is a former co-CEO of Deutsche Bank’s absolute return strategies business in Europe.

Succeeding Anker and serving under him are Owen Thiers and François Bornens, the new co-heads of European institutional sales. Both are based in London.

Thiers has been with Citi AI since 2005 as director in charge of pension funds and consultants in the U.K. and the Netherlands. Bornens joined Citigroup in 1989 and has headed distribution for Citi AI in France, the Benelux countries and parts of the Nordic region since 2002.
