Multi-strategy investment platform Financial Stocks Inc. has named Michael McMahon to lead its West Cost private equity transactions and new San Francisco office, it said today. McMahon, hired as a managing director in FSI’s p.e. division, joins the firm from Sandler O’Neill & Partners, where he was a highly-regarded equity analyst, covering banks, thrifts and mortgage finance companies.

McMahon “brings to FSI unmatched knowledge of the West Coast financial services landscape and will spearhead efforts to identify investment opportunities for the firm and our investors in this rapidly-growing market for banking and other financial services,” FSI senior managing director Bob King said.
