Global private equity firm CVC Capital Partners has beefed up its new U.S. office with the hire of Robert Berner as a partner.
Berner joins from Ripplewood, where he served as a managing director. He has also been a managing director at Charterhouse and a principal in Morgan Stanley’s M&A group.
CVC, which has 16 offices in Europe, Asia and Australia and manages $24 billion, opened a New York office last month, headed by Christopher Stadler.
“Establishing our U.S. operations with partners the caliber of Chris and Rob demonstrates CVC’s commitment to this market,” CVC Chairman Michael Smith said.
