Prime brokerage firm NorthPoint Trading Partners has hired Sean Westley as a senior vice president of sales. Westley will be based in the firm's New York offices.

Prior to joining NorthPoint, a subsidiary of technology firm BNY ConvergEx Group, he worked in numerous prime brokerage capacities at UBS, Credit Suisse and Goldman Sachs.  Most recently he served as an executive director in UBS’s prime services division.

“We are thrilled to bring someone of Sean’s caliber on board to further get the message out about NorthPoint’s unique offering.," said Doug Nelson, chief executive officer of NorthPoint.  "Our top boutique prime brokerage rankings combined with ConvergEx’s state-of-the-art proprietary technologies is a powerful proposition to funds of all sizes.”

ConvergEx acquired NorthPoint Trading Partners in December 2009.
