Hedge Fund M&A Adviser Joins Proxy Firm Okapi

Aug 9 2010 | 11:18am ET

Proxy solicitation firm Okapi Partners has hired a former hedge fund adviser.

Geoff Sorbello joins from ISS/RiskMetrics, where he provided governance services, advice and mergers and acquisitions research to the proxy advisory firm’s hedge fund clients. During his time at the firm, he worked on contentious mergers and acquisitions and nasty proxy fights, Okapi said.

"I am thrilled to be joining the outstanding team at Okapi Partners,” Sorbello said. “During my seven-plus years at ISS, I had the privilege of working with many of the world's best advisors on shareholder rights issues, proxy contests and M&A. I look forward to adding to Okapi Partner's existing expertise and stellar reputation.”
