Hermes has added a hedge fund manager to its global equities team.

The firm has named Zu Cowperthwaite a portfolio manager based in Boston. She will focus on global consumer stock selection.

Cowperthwaite had been co-manager of Loomis Sayles’ global consumer long/short hedge fund. That fund was liquidated in April after bother Cowperthwaite and her co-manager, Ted Finch, left the firm.

Finch plans to start his own hedge fund, Big Rock Capital, in September, Pensions & Investments reports.
