Barclays Wealth has made another pair of hires as it expands its alternative investments business.
The firm named Marco Severi a vice president of its alternative investment distribution team, while Ishtaj Rahman has been appointed a hedge fund specialist on its alternative origination team. Both men are based in London.
Severi joins from Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management. Rahman, formerly of JPMorgan Chase, moves over from Barclays Wealth’s Dubai office.
“Clearly alternative investments are an integral part of our global offering and in recent months we have significantly increased our team,” Craig Lewis, head of Europe, Middle East and Africa relationship management and distribution, said. “We believe alternative investments will continue to grow in importance and the identification and structuring of the right solutions demands more resources. The team in the EMEA region is committed to delivering tailored investment solutions to our clients in conjunction with Barclay’s Wealth overall investment philosophy.”
