Emerging Manager Platform Revere Acquires Research Firm Align

Emerging hedge fund managers platform Revere Capital Advisors is adding emerging manager research and advisory to its business line with the acquisition of Align Advisers.

New York-based Align was founded by Stefan Zellmer, who will remain with Revere as head of the combined firm’s manager research team. Zellmer, a former head of hedge fund research at UBP Asset Management and co-head of research at Arden Asset Management, will bring along senior analyst Michael Barron.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“We are delighted to have the talent, quality and industry experience of Stefan and his team join Revere,” Dan Barnett, founder and CEO of Revere, said. “The emerging manager space is experiencing a cyclical surplus in investment talent, resulting in an outstanding opportunity for hedge fund seeders. Revere is currently raising capital for a hedge fund seeding vehicle which we expect to allocate across 12-15 additional hedge funds over a four year period.”
