Hedge fund administrator Apex Fund Services has expanded to Canada with the opening of an office in Toronto.

The Toronto office, Apex’s 18th, is headed by Alex Chapman. Chapman joined Apex from Commonwealth Fund Services, the former Mintz Fund Services, the firm he co-founded and served as vice president. He formerly worked in Monaco at a small fund administrator.

“We view the Canadian market as having significant potential for growth and we are already seeing a number of new fund launches,” Apex managing director Peter Hughes said.” The opening of our office in Toronto will consolidate our success, particularly in North America, and will allow us to build on the progress already made by our US office.”

Red Bank, N.J.-based Apex boasts offices in Europe, the Caribbean, the Middle East and Asia.
