BlackRock has hired a Brevan Howard Asset Management hedge fund manager to join one of its debt desks.
Ian Winship was named a senior money manager on BlackRock’s sterling fundamental fixed-income team. At Brevan, he was head of absolute return products.
Prior to joining Brevan, Winship was head of global rates at Aberdeen Asset Management.
“We are excited Ian has joined the UK fundamental fixed income team,” new boss Paul Shuttleworth, head of sterling fixed-income, said. “His wealth of experience not only adds to the depth and breadth of the BlackRock team, but also brings another dimension to the way we look at the opportunity set for U.K. clients.”
