Swank Hires Hedge Fund Lawyer As Compliance Chief

Nov 23 2010 | 10:16am ET

The head of the Texas Hedge Fund Association has joined natural resources investment firm Swank Capital.

Barry Greenberg was named general counsel and chief compliance officer at the Dallas-based firm. In the post, he'll also oversee Swank's Cushing MLP master limited partnership funds, as well as play a role in product development and other strategic initiatives.

Greenberg joins the firm from law firm Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, where he was a partner in its investment funds practice in Dallas. He's been executive director of the THFA since May of last year.

"I've been following the market for master limited partnerships and  have worked with Swank Capital as a client of Akin Gump for several years," said Greenberg. "I'm looking forward to new challenges and the opportunity to contribute my insights on products and strategies as a member of management."
