Allianz Group has completed the merger of its two fund of hedge funds platforms, combining its European and U.S. teams into one under the aegis of AGF Alternative Asset Management CEO François Vert.

The combined AGF-Allianz Hedge Fund Partners will be based in Paris, with a New York office. It boasts more than US$10 billion in assets.

The founders of AHFP, Madhav Misra, Philippe Collot and Johan Ahlstrom, left the firm on March 31 to pursue “entrepreneurial interests,” according to the AAAM. The agreement to combine the business was struck in October 2006, and took effect at the beginning of April.
