Multi-Family Office Adds Moonraker Founder

One of MaxCap Partners’ two new investment management chiefs will be putting his hedge fund expertise to work at the multi-family office.

Michel Piette was named, along with Ittan Ali, an investment manager at the London-based firm. While Ali will focus his attention on stocks, Piette is charged with overseeing hedge funds and commodities.

“The client-centric business model and the scope and breadth of investments are what initially attracted me to MaxCap,” Piette said. “I plan to develop MaxCap’s expertise in commodities and hedge fund investments, and contribute to a larger offering globally.”

Before taking on his new role, Piette co-founded a hedge fund, Moonraker Fund Management, and worked as a hedge fund analyst at BDO Stoy Hayward Investment Management. He was previously an alternative investments consultant at Towers Perrin.
