Brevan U.S. Sales Chief Joins Credit Suisse Alts. Unit

Jan 20 2011 | 3:01am ET

The head of Brevan Howard Asset Management’s U.S. marketing arm has left the hedge fund for Credit Suisse’s alternative investments group.

Stephen Stonberg was named chief operating officer of the Credit Suisse Asset Management’s alternatives unit, reporting to division chief Ravi Singh. He’ll focus on marketing Credit Suisse’s hedge funds and private equity funds to clients.

Stonberg was CEO of Brevan Howard U.S. His exit on Jan. 1 coincides with the firm’s November decision to close its US$26 billion flagship to new investors. While he is no longer a partner at the firm, he does remain a director of three of Brevan Howard’s funds.
