A pair of former analysts at two top hedge funds are to launch a hedge fund of their own.
Howard Shainker and Akiva Katz have founded Bow Street, HFMWeek reports. It is unclear when the firm plans to launch its maiden fund or what strategy it will employ, although Shainker formerly covered financial services and retail and consumer stocks at hedge fund Third Point.
Katz worked at Brahman Capital before founding Bow Street.

"I tell people that everybody likes good news and so if you have good performance that’s wonderful,” explains Mike McKitish of Peddie School's endowment, “but it’s the people that want to talk about the bad news or where they drifted and how they came back and how they stayed to their discipline…” that he wants to hear from.
