Man Moves GLG U.K. Biz. Dev. Chief To Hong Kong

Mar 4 2011 | 8:56am ET

The Man Group has named GLG Partners' former head of business development in the U.K. to a similar post covering Asia.

Andrew Thatcher will work to build GLG's Asia business following his appointment as an executive director in the region, The Asset reports. Thatcher moved to Hong Kong from London earlier this year.

Thatcher has been with GLG since 2006. He had worked alongside Richard Phillips, the former head of Société Générale Asset Management's retail business following GLG's acquisition of SGAM in 2009, and also was head of U.K. hedge fund distribution.

Prior to joining GLG, Thatcher worked at Citigroup and Merrill Lynch.

Man acquired GLG last year.
