Germany’s SEB UCITS III Platform Adds Tungsten Long/Short Fund

Apr 13 2011 | 9:48am ET

European prime broker SEB has added a new fund to its German UCITS platform from Tungsten Capital Management, a German equity specialist.

The Tungsten long/short strategy is an absolute return strategy with a 10-year track record investing in U.S. equities. The strategy is systematic long/short with a contrarian profile investing only in the most liquid instruments listed on the major U.S. exchanges.

It will be offered on the SEB Master KAG, which, together with SEB Enskilda Prime Brokerage, provides a one-stop shop for German UCITS funds, assisting with risk management, fund administration, pricing and fund and tax reporting.

Andreas Julin, SEB Enskilda’s head of prime brokerage sales Germany said: “We see a continued strong investor appetite for alternative UCITS across Europe and Germany offers some of the most interesting opportunities. SEB Master KAG is an extension to our alternative UCITS offering in Luxembourg.”

Added Bernd Schusta, of SEB Master KAG: “Tungsten is one of the pioneers in Germany for absolute return strategies, and we have a long-standing history working together with Tungsten’s onshore hedge funds. We are now looking forward to expanding our relationship further with a UCITS III fund.”
