Russell Hires Credit Suisse’s Babbit, MSCI’s Burke For Alts.

Russell Investments has hired two to boost its alternative investments business.

Lance Babbit was named a senior portfolio manager for hedge funds, while Brian Burke was appoint a risk management officer. Both will focus on Russell’s funds of hedge funds; Babbit overseeing commingled and custom fund of funds portfolios and Burke analyzing risk in both external and internal portfolios, Pensions & Investments reports.

Babbit joins from Credit Suisse Group, where he led its alpha strategies group for the Americas. Burke was head of the analyst team at Measurisk, acquired last year by MSCI.
