Apr 15 2011 | 10:59am ET

Bank of Montreal Capital Markets is boosting its hedge fund sales effort with the hire of Barclays Capital veteran Steve Nicholson.

Nicholson was named a director at the Canadian bank's London office, BMO said. He will begin work on May 9.

"We are delighted Steve has chosen to join BMO, over the many firms that courted his services," Simon Watkins, head of foreign exchange in London, said.

Nicholson worked in hedge fund sales at Barclays from 2005 until earlier this year. He previously worked at JPMorgan Chase.
