Hedge Fund Vet Starts Research, Due Diligence Firm

Apr 15 2011 | 11:06am ET

A former analyst at hedge fund Diamond Oak Capital Advisors has founded a hedge fund advisory.

Grillo Investment Management will offer research and due diligence on both hedge funds and individual publicly-traded companies, HFMWeek reports. The force behind it is Sara Grillo, who launched the firm last month after leaving Diamond Oak.

"Research has show that firms with higher operational quality may tend to gain more alpha," Grillo explained to HFM.

Before joining Diamond Oak, Grillo worked at Fidelity Investments, JPMorgan Chase, Lehman Brothers and Rochdale Investment Management.

Grillo IM will focus on high-dividend value stocks, real-estate investment trusts and master limited partnerships, providing research both to high-net-worth individuals and institutional investors.
