Ex-Magnetar Analyst Schmidt Promoted At Mesirow

Money manager Mesirow Financial has put a former Magnetar Capital analyst in charge of its U.S. value equity management group.

Susan Schmidt has been with Chicago-based Mesirow since 2009 as a portfolio manager. She joined the firm from Magnetar, where she was a senior equity analyst.

Now Schmidt will lead the U.S. value equity management group, Mesirow said. She reports directly to CEO Richard Price, who took over the firm in March following the death of James Tyree.

Prior to joining Magnetar, Schmidt worked at Essex Investment.
