Gottex, OFI Managed-Account J.V. Gets CEO

Apr 19 2011 | 1:27am ET

LUMA Solutions Services, the managed accounts joint-venture of Gottex Fund Management and OFI Asset Management, has named Gottex's Arnaud Massenet CEO.

Massenet was head of marketing for Europe and the Middle East at Gottex, which joined forces with OFI in December. The platform currently features 25 funds and has US$1.4 billion in assets under management.

"We definitely see the growth in the UCITS SICAV as most of the investors we talk to prefer to invest in regulated vehicles rather than unregulated ones," Massenet told HFMWeek. "There is also interest from the managers as well to be seen as regulated, therefore, many of the managers that we talk to would rather start at UCITS vehicle account."

But, Massenet said, LUMA also offers a non-UCITS structure for those strategies not suited to the demands imposed by European regulators on UCITS-compliant funds.

Massenet said LUMA hopes to add another five to 10 managers over the next 12 months, and to boost its assets under management by US$500 million.
