London-based hedge fund Veritas Asset Management has hired Lucy Colback as fund manager and investment analyst across the group’s Asian Strategies.
Veritas has £4.5 billion in assets under management and Asian strategies account for £1.5 billion of that.
Colback brings 16 years’ experience in Asian and emerging market equities, including roles at Horizon Asset, Bear Stearns Asia, Merrill Lynch and Schroder Investment Management.
In her new role, Colback will report directly to Ezra Sun who will continue to lead the group’s three Asian products. She has joined to broaden the analytical coverage of Australia and Taiwan and to support Sun in the day-to-day management of the group’s Asian funds.
Colback, who will be based in London, will join a team of five investment professionals in that city and Hong Kong.
Said Sun: “I have known Lucy for 17 years and believe she will be a fantastic addition to our team. Given her extensive Asian experience both on the 'buy' and 'sell' sides, Lucy has an in-depth understanding of the region’s markets, in addition to an extensive knowledge of companies based in Asia.”
Veritas’ Asia offerings include the Veritas Asian Fund, the Real Asian Fund and the Veritas China Fund.
