Commerzbank Launches Asia Growth Fund

May 10 2007 | 1:35pm ET

Commerzbank Alternative Investment Strategies has launched a new multi-strategy Asia-Pacific-focused fund of hedge funds, aiming at a 10% annual return.

The Comas Asia Growth Fund is listed on the Irish Stock Exchange and is managed by Richard Blake. The vehicle—which began trading at the beginning of March and has returned 2.45% since then—will invest in at least 15 hedge funds.

“The Comas Asia Growth Fund provides our clients with exposure to a combination of Asia-Pacific market growth, idiosyncratic company or market events and arbitrage opportunities in the region whilst avoiding the high levels of asset price volatility that has been historically observed,” Blake said.

“Inefficiencies through Asia compare favorably to the more mature markets of Europe and the U.S.; such inefficiencies can be profitably exploited.”
