Man Moves AHL Asia Trading To Hong Kong

May 27 2011 | 12:30pm ET

The Man Group's flagship strategy has moved its Asia trading operations to Asia.

The firm said today that it had more than doubled the size of the AHL strategy's staff in Hong Kong. The 11-member stand-alone CTA trading desk is now charged with covering 49 markets in the Asia-Pacific region, supported by local research and systems implementation teams.

"The AHL Asia desk will cover the Asian trading session, with a seamless handover to a London team for the European open," Man said.

"Hong Kong is a tremendous base for our business in Asia and this expansion will help us to provide the very best trading and risk management services for clients in the region," AHL CEO Tim Wong added. "We have a great network across the continent"—including offices in Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo—"and we will continue to build relationships and explore new trading ideas through local talents."

The Asia desk will trade some US$4 billion per day.
