Bear Stearns International has appointed James Shekerdemian to the newly-created role of head of sales for prime brokerage in Europe.
He will be responsible for the build out of the company's equity sales franchise in Europe to prime brokerage clients, and will report to Paul Brannan, head of prime brokerage, Europe and to Vicki Aston-Duff and Leonardo Giangreco, co-heads of equity sales, Europe.
Shekerdemian joins from Lehman Brothers where he was the head of the quantitative hedge fund sales group.
Vincent Van Pelt, co-head of equities in Europe, said, "Prime brokerage is one of the focal areas for Bear Stearns' global expansion strategy so we are investing in talented individuals to ensure we build the best franchise we can."
