New York-based hedge fund seeder Larch Lane Advisors has appointed David Katz president and COO.

Katz has over 20 years of experience in institutional consulting and building investment advisory businesses. He previously served as co-founder and partner of Rocaton Investment Advisors, an investment consulting firm. Prior to that, he served as managing director of investment consulting firm BARRA RogersCasey and at Goldman Sachs.

“We are thrilled to have David join Larch Lane. His institutional experience and leadership will help guide the firm during a very exciting period for early stage hedge fund investing, including seeding” says Mark Jurish, Larch Lane founder and CEO/CIO.

Katz replaces current COO, Kevin Mirabile who will remain in a senior leadership role at Larch Lane and serve as an advisory director on the firm’s board. He will also expand his role as a lecturer at Fordham University.

Larch Lane Advisors is a registered investment advisory firm and an affiliate of Old Mutual Asset Management, specializing in the management of alternative investment portfolios. Larch Lane manages commingled funds and customized portfolios for clients in two distinct investment strategies: constructing diversified portfolios of hedge funds and negotiating and structuring seed investments in hedge funds. Larch Lane advises on $1.5 billion of assets.
