Jason Mackay has given up hedge funds to help run digital agency Shout Digital.

Mackay formerly managed GLG Partners' U.K. Select fund, leaving the firm at the end of last year after more than six years with the hedge fund, which last year merged with the Man Group. He's also done a stint at Morgan Stanley as a proprietary trader.

Now, he'll serve as an adviser to Shout Digital, which offers Web design, e-commerce and e-marketing services. Mackay, an investor in the 18-month-old Newcastle, U.K.-based company, has joined its board of directors, as well, Investment Week reports.

Shout Digital hopes that Mackay's addition will speed the company's opening of a London office this year.

"Shout Digital has enormous potential to become one of the leading agencies and I can help introduce the team to potential prospects," Mackay said. "I believe that the agency will undoubtedly become the one to watch."
