Finance industry vet, hedge fund expert and one-time pro footballer Douglas R. Rothschild has been named president of Chicago-based Performance Trust Investment Advisors.
Rothschild, who has over 16 years of experience in the financial services industry, comes to PTIA from Don Steinbrugge’s third-party marketing firm Agecroft Partners, where he managed European distribution and sourced and signed managers in London and Asia. Rothschild also served on the executive committee of a large, multi-strategy hedge fund and spent over eight years as a trader and manager of trading operations at the Chicago Board of Trade and Chicago Board Options Exchange.
Rothschild’s resume also includes two years as a free agent in the National Football League with the Chicago Bears and Cincinnati Bengals.
In his new post at PTIA, Rothschild will be responsible for running the asset management business and executing the company’s current business strategy, including raising additional assets and building out the infrastructure in distribution, client service and operations.
Rich Berg, CEO of Performance Trust Companies, said: “Doug’s expertise in building an asset management business and his distribution capabilities make him a great fit for PTIA. We are growing rapidly, and we will benefit from Doug’s operational expertise. Doug will partner with our CIO, Peter Cook, who continues to focus on delivering returns for our investors. We are thrilled to have him lead the team.”
PTIA manages assets of pension, endowment, family office, fund of funds and individual clients. The firm manages funds and separately managed accounts tailored to the liquidity needs of its clients.
