Hedge Fund Redemptions Hit Record Low In July

Jul 21 2011 | 7:27am ET

Hedge fund redemptions were at an all-time low of 2.08% for July 2011, down from 4.01% in June, according to the GlobeOp Forward Redemption Indicator.

GlobeOp CEO Hans Hufschmid says July’s numbers are the lowest since the series began in January 2008

The indicator represents the sum of forward redemption notices received from investors in hedge funds administered by GlobeOp, divided by the assets under administration at the beginning of the month for its fund administration clients. Forward redemptions as a percentage of assets under administration have trended significantly lower since reaching a high of 19.27% in November 2008.
